In Her Words
I discovered a burgeoning passion of working with my hands in middle age and found that craft work, not only gave me a venue for creative expression but also provided a way to give something back to the community. I opened a Craft Boutique that was called "Fans Etc." this was a place where local artist could sell there craft on consignment and be part of local crafter's and designers. At this time I was designing Fans out of fabric, these were beautiful wall hangings. My clients would bring in swatches of fabric that they wished to be turned into wall hangings. I also designed floral arrangements, made jewelry, sculptors and Etc. The Boutique was fashions for women and men. I had clients all over Westchester County and as far as New York City. It was a grand time for me. Then one sad day came, and it all went up in flames, gone. I was devastated, but with the grace of the Lord I made it.
Moving to North Carolina I stumbled onto GOURDS. I fell in love immediately and never looked back. My Gourds are a unique style of my own environment. They are wearable art pieces and stunning accessories for everyone, for the home and place of business. Made from many mixed media finds. I have also introduce into my world of design working in copper and ACEO cards. ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Editions and Originals". These cards have one main rule they are 3.5" by 2.5" - the size of a trading card.
I am always looking for to enhance my creativity.
