Barry Stebbing, Painter
Barry Stebbing has been an artist his entire life. He attended Maryland Institute of Art as a painting major, and received his degree in art education from Salisbury University. Graduate studies were done in Cortona, Italy with the University of Georgia, along with studying portrait painting in Montreal.
Barry spent many years teaching art in the public school system, along with teaching adult education and painting workshops.
In 1990-1991, Barry and his wife set out across the back roads of America where he completed a series of oil paintings, three in each state, of some of this country's most splendid scenery. It was during this time that Barry began to realize God's purpose for his talents, and after much conviction from the Holy Spirit, he surrendered those talents to be used for God's Glory instead of his own. It was just a short while later that the first book on drawing was written and that was the beginning of How Great Thou Art Publications.
Since that first book was published, 14 more curriculums have been written for all ages combining journaling, drawing, and painting along with art appreciation. Barry and his wife Saundra have also been conducting 3-day art classes across the U.S. and Canada for the last several years and expect that they have taught more than 50,000 students the "joy of art" thru these classes.
